FRIDAY - SEPTEMBER 13, 2002 - ISSUE NO. 30

Dear Friends and Industry Colleagues,

This is my weekly newsletter about Wireless Data and Radio Paging. You are receiving this message because you have either communicated with me in the past about a wireless topic, or your address was included in another e-mail that I received on the same topic. This is not a SPAM. If you have received this message in error, or you are not interested in these topics, please click here, then click on “send” and you will be promptly removed from the mailing list.

I am sorry that it was necessary to skip last week's newsletter, but I am currently traveling in the midwest and it has been difficult to find good connections to the Internet. A high-speed connection is necessary to send these newsletters since each one goes out individually configured with several included images. You should have seen my motel room with two computers, an Ethernet hub, a LAN, a hard drive, and lots of wires! Hopefully, this newsletter will get to everyone in good form this week. I am sending it from an ISP in my hometown—Fairfield, Illinois—where I am visiting friends and family. Special thanks to Jerry Gill of Gill's Sales & Service for providing me with access to the Internet.

Please allow me to welcome several new subscribers who are joining us this week. If you know of anyone else that would like to receive this weekly article, please send me their e-mail address and I will add them to the database.

WIRELESS NEWS

WebLink emerges from bankruptcy Sept. 12, 2002 1:44 PM EST
DALLAS—Paging and messaging carrier WebLink Wireless Inc. announced it has officially emerged from bankruptcy, and that the company’s president and chief executive officer, N. Ross Buckenham, will also now serve as the company’s Chairman of the Board.

“I would like to thank all WebLink Wireless stakeholders, employees and customers for their support and loyalty during the reorganization process which we are very happy to have successfully completed,” Buckenham said. “Now, WebLink Wireless is a healthy, cash flow positive company with a strong balance sheet and we are looking forward to meeting the growing needs of our wireless data partners and customers.”

My best wishes to all my former colleagues at WebLink Wireless. I hope no one else loses their job there and that the company prospers.

ADIÓS AMIGOS
Well, that's it for this week. If you have any wireless equipment that you would like to buy or sell, please let me know. Everything that is offered for sale in this newsletter is on the honor system. There is no charge for the listing, but if a sale is made, I ask the seller to send me a 10% commission—much the same as the voluntary payments that are requested on the Internet for shareware. Subscription to the newsletter is free but contributions to help cover expenses are gladly accepted. Checks may be sent to the address below. Thank you very much.
