Why, anybody can have a brain. That's a very mediocre commodity. Every pusillanimous creature that crawls on the Earth or slinks through slimy seas has a brain. Back where I come from, we have universities, seats of great learning, where men go to become great thinkers. And when they come out, they think deep thoughts and with no more brains than you have! But they have one thing you haven't got — a diploma. Therefore, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Universitatus Committeatum E Pluribus Unum, I hereby confer upon you the honorary degree of Th.D. — that's Doctor of Thinkology.

Since I now have a Mensa card, I know how the Scarecrow must have felt when he said:

I can't dance like Ray Bolger did in the movie but I can certainly identify with the character that he played. Thank you Mensa. To be perfectly honest, I have built this web page because my parents and some of my school teachers thought I was “slow.” Much later in life I found out it was just ADHD.

I have been involved in Radio Communications and Electronics for over 50 years. I have traveled to fifty-plus countries working in Radio Paging and Two-way Radio. Just like Johnny Appleseed — except I went around the world planting Radio Paging Systems instead of apple trees. Now I work as an independent wireless data consultant, and I edit a free weekly newsletter on the Internet about Wireless Messaging. It was read by about five thousand people in nearly fifty countries each week—less now.

I like photography, reading, writing, listening to music, and watching movies. I have a home theater with surround sound, of which I am very proud. I am an amateur chef and I especially enjoy discussing Latin America in either Spanish or English since I have spent a major part of my life living and working there. I am also an amateur (ham) licensed radio operator.

My three children are all grown and have lives of their own. I am single and live with my best friend “Duke” a mixed-breed dog — mostly Rottweiler — maybe some Lab too, since he has webbed feet. I am a Betta Enthusiast and I have a couple of beautiful fish.

Four years of undergraduate study at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. Several industry-related specialized training courses at Motorola and other companies. A total immersion course in the Spanish language in San José, Costa Rica. Radio engineer through independent studies. Attended six institutions of so called higher learning.

Like Mark Twain said, “I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.”
